part one of my "sight" (or insight) of Diego's painting.
The story is of Arachne and Minera and a challenge of who's better. Common knowledge:
a human should never challenge a god.

Based on "framed stories", I see why Mr. Sexson chose this painting as an example. After the challenge between Arachne and Minera, we all know Arachne is turned into a spider. But pointed ou tin class,
Diego's painting does not represent or show a spider. I disagree.
According to what a "framed story" is, a story, in a story, in a story....and so forth............
what better representation of a "web" could their be. Not in a physical sence, but in a mythical sence.
Also, paying close attentions to the layout of Diego's "spinning", again representive of a web and spiders, you can see the web. From the outer edges to the center - the mythical center......
OKAY, I AM HAVING A BRAIN FART.
Center, mythical....please word, come to mind........axis mundi?........omphalos.........YOU CHOOSE.
You all get it, right?...you know what I am trying to bring clear, yes? Great.
To be continued...................
get it?
